f you are looking for a place to meet people who share your enthusiasm for this little-known area of Spain, want to take part in learning more about the culture and history of the Costa Tropical by visiting various sites, or just want to have fun walking through the countryside or playing petanque on
the beach...then the International Club of Salobreña is for you. Meeting weekly throughout the year (with the exception of July/August), the Club numbers over 50 members - some living in the area full-time, others balancing homes in two or more countries.
Our membership brings together people from all different countries including the UK, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, America, Canada, and Australia.
Social Meetings are held on Wednesdays at the Hotel Salobreña at 11am. In between social meetings we plan a variety of activities which in the past have included things like: tours of local museums and historical sites, walks in the Alpujarras, coach trips to the Malaga Botanical Gardens, Caves
at Pinar and the Rio Tinto mines, talks by members on a variety of subjects and special celebrations at local restaurants.
It should be noted that, although the name of the Club says 'of Salobreña', our members reside in the 'greater' Costa Tropical region: from Almunecar to Motril, Lecrin Valley/Alpujarras to the Coast.
Cost of joining the International Club of Salobreña is €5 per person for the remainder of 2007 (full-year subscription is €10 per person). Further information can be requested by email aticsalobrena@hotmail.com
or by calling Arlene at 666 76 34 78. Also, a listing of upcoming activities can be found at the Salobreña Tourist Office, the Hotel Salobreña and Cyber Surfer Internet Café at the beach.
The next meeting (the first after our summer break) is on Wednesday 19 September at the Hotel Salobreña at 11am. We gather at the bar area or just outside when the weather's good! We look forward to seeing you there!
